Astana – Almaty Asian Winter Games 2011
Callenge
The greatest challenge we had to face for our project in Kazakhstan
was coping with the forces of nature. The country is not only regularly
hit by earthquakes, it is also subject to extreme temperatures. On top
of that, all components for our systems had to be delivered from
Germany via road haulage.
Solution
In addition to an earthquake-resistant steel construction, our installation
also required air-conditioned casing, including heating. After all, it has to
be able to cope with a temperature range spanning from 50°C above to
-50°C below. The air conditioning systems are monitored by the
SX [TempControl] control module, which was developed in-house.
Safe transport of components to the Asian winter wonderland was
ensured by using our own logistics services.
